Can simple convert my printed advertising material to PowerPoint? back to FAQ

Simple can recreate your printed materials, or if you have original files/PDFs we can work directly to ensure your branding is cohesive.

Can we have sequenced animation builds on slides or graphs? back to FAQ

Yes, simple can create transitions or complex animation build effects. These can be structures to appear in stages on your click, or on a timer delay.

How can I insert my latest corporate video, web animation or advertisement? back to FAQ

Simple have inserted a number of videos from TVCs to web animation into PowerPoint. A lot depends on the compression & format of your video from your production house. In our experience, compressed Macromedia Flash files, AVIs, MPEGs, Windows Media & Real Player files have all been successful inserted for various clients.

Will I be able to email my new simple PowerPoint slides? back to FAQ

Unlike most inhouse staff or advertising agency direct our slides have undergone a unique optimisation process. A 4-part master is around 300K (including your choice of background images & logos) with splash slides! A 50 slide slideshow can often be reduced under 1 Meg. The magic number for efficient emailling is between 1-2 MB.

What about if I have projector or printing problems? back to FAQ

Simple presentations are structure to avoid screen crashes, version problems, or corrupt presentations. However, simple staff are happy to assist or liaise with your conference centre. Simple recommend a dry-run at least the day before the presentation; as well as a back-up CD-Rom, handouts &/or a second laptop.

Can simple integrate or link Excel data or Word tables into PowerPoint slides? back to FAQ

Many users of PowerPoint contact us with crashes whilst transferring data into presentation format.

Simple unique method of using Microsoft OLE to reduce file-sizes when inserting Excel charts & graphs or large Word tables.

How can simple reduce the file-size of my pasted Excel Charts and Graphs? back to FAQ

Our file-sizes are often 10% of those (50 graph slides under 1 MB!) of clients & competitors. If you have file-size issues with Excel Charts in Microsoft PowerPoint/Word – ask us to OLE !

Is there a way to create complex technical or business diagrams? back to FAQ

The limits of MS PowerPoint Autoshapes are often reached. Microsoft Visio provides the solution to complex diagrams such as workflows, topology, networks, marketing charts, custom Financials, waterfalls, Gantt charts, bubble charts & the like.

Best of all simple will supply the diagrams as GIF or JPG so you can place them in your Word documents also.

Will simple work with my marketing people, PR firm &/or Ad agency? back to FAQ

Yes. In fact, simple work with a number of Public Relations firms and Advertising Agencies already. We are often subcontracted to do slides on behalf of these agencies due to our specialised expertise.

Why do I need help — can’t I design slides inhouse? back to FAQ

Yes. However simple will save each staff member who makes presentations many hours. Only our slide presentations and templates are professionally structured, branded, with consistent settings, crash-resistant, and with smaller file-sizes. The cost-savings alone from emailing our branded slides vs. couriers is considerable…

After purchasing a template it is easy to create as much slide content as you wish, maintaining the branding without our assistance. Simple also have a number of PowerPoint training options to assist.

We are an Ad Agency, PR firm, Marketing consultancy — will simple subcontract to us? back to FAQ

Yes we can handle as little or as much of the job as you wish remotely, with rates and timelines agreed in advance.

Why can’t my IT staff design my PowerPoint slides? back to FAQ

Most IT staff are network, programmers or help-desk people. They may know many technical aspects of applications like Microsoft PowerPoint, however they rarely have the pre-requisite design or Photoshop imaging skills.

Simple’s PowerPoint gurus will create a usable slide design, professionally branded at a small file size.

We’re on a tight deadline, can simple help? back to FAQ

Yes. Whilst it is not recommended, we have started PowerPoint slideshows at 10:00 PM on before a next day speech at 11.00 AM. We can deliver slides rapidly — but contact us as soon as possible before the speech or presentation.

Where in Australia do simple deliver PowerPoint design? back to FAQ

Due to our extensive experience working remotely we have & can deliver Microsoft PowerPoint presentations & templates in NSW, Victoria, ACT, WA & Queensland — in short, Australia-wide. Our unique file-optimisation techniques allow simple to make extensive use of email for drafts & edits.

Where in New Zealand do simple deliver PowerPoint design? back to FAQ

Due to our extensive experience working remotely we have can deliver Microsoft PowerPoint presentations across New Zealand (prices in Australia dollars). Once again, our unique file-optimisation techniques allow simple to make extensive use of email for drafts & edits.

What about Microsoft PowerPoint VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) & macros? back to FAQ

Simple can utilise limited VBA within PowerPoint for solutions such as capturing financial data from an outside ODBC source; or automating slide production. Most systems export, so this is not as necessary, nor recommended as it was in the past.

How do simple create PowerPoint slides from an Access/ODBC database? back to FAQ

We have a unique VBA coded database module that can insert pictures or text into a pre-designed template; allowing you to centralise your content. The module can also be integrated take advantage of your existing database or Web CMS content.

Can you just answer a quick PowerPoint question? back to FAQ

Actually, Google is your friend. Google the exact error message or command you need with “Microsoft PowerPoint” in quotes.

Try Microsoft’s website www.microsoft.com/powerpoint . If that does not help, try posting a question to newsgroup accessible from the Microsoft site. The MVPs (gurus) are nice folks.

Welcome to the re-launch of simple. Established 1999, using the service-delivery model simple is to begin offering exciting Desktop Apps that will make it easier to work wherever you are. More news > more

Yes, welcome to the re-launch of simple!

Established in 1999, as a technology consulting & training firm, simple became a leader in Australian desktop application development for a who’s who of Australia.

Innovation rules…

In 2006 we had launched our brother firm 2thinknow, innovation agency. As this firm has grown to include programs such as the Innovation Cities Program & Index (world’s leading ranking of cities on innovation) we have not had time to pursue our strategy for simple.

In 2007 the founders decided to take a personal rest from desktop applications and service-based model. In 2008, we decided to re-design the firm from the ground up to focus on Intellectual Property leverage, not service model. We did this because we felt that the technology market was undergoing change and commodification, and wanted to focus on innovation.

In 2009 we formulated a strategy to re-launch simple, but as ‘to-do’ get longer, only commenced this in January 2010.

Same products, new model.

So, simple will now be a leading firm in desktop applications.

We will no longer sell services, rather finished products developed using our intellectual property.

When? Tick, tock…

Of course, all that is marvelous. But when will this site be ready?

Soon. Until then. Well some bits won’t work properly. And it will look like a designers work in progress.

We like to grow and evolve our sites, rather than plonk a finished brochure down. So, if you have any input please let us know.
